Day 1

Navigate slowly on the Nile, following its course, pushed by the wind between bends and cataracts. From south to north to visit the archaeological treasures of the pharaohs. The days will be spent on the mighty flow of the Nile, with stops in more or less large locations along the coast. Dahabeya offers us the opportunity to reach the famous archaeological sites on less crowded days and to visit even the smaller ones where large cruise ships cannot dock. The traditional sailing ship has 10 spacious suites and a single cabin with air conditioning and private bathroom, large lounge and restaurants. On the sun deck there are lounge chairs for relaxing and watching the hustle and bustle on the banks of the Nile. The crew members come from small towns along the route and can always give you good advice during the trip and make contact with the locals during shore excursions. En route, we often moor to explore the river regions.

Day 1: Arrival in Luxor
You will land at Luxor Airport. A representative from the local travel agency will meet you in the immigration area of the airport and assist you in applying for your visa. Transfer to your Dahabiya in Luxor. Boarding. The rest of the day is at your leisure. Dinner and overnight stay on board.
Day 2: Luxor: East Thebes
Today we have the opportunity to take an optional hot air balloon ride over Luxor to watch the sunrise. After breakfast on board the Dahabeya, we will visit the vast temple complexes of Karnak and Luxor Temple. Egypt's largest temple complex has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1979, along with the Luxor Temple and the Theban Necropolis. Karnak, perhaps the largest monumental complex ever built, is the most important site in Pharaonic Egypt. It has been expanded by various dynasties and has evolved for over 2000 years. Today it is a collection of sanctuaries, pylons and obelisks, a true open-air historical stone archive. The afternoon is at your disposal. In the evening you can witness the sound and light show of Karnak Temple. Dinner and overnight stay on board.

Day 3: West Thebes – Esna
Today we have the chance to take an optional balloon ride over Luxor to watch the sunrise. After breakfast on board the Dahabeya we visit the western coast, in particular the Valley of the Kings, where the tombs of the rulers of the New Kingdom (CA. 1550 - 1069 BC) are located. Here we visit three tombs. Next we visit the terrace temple of Hatshepsut, the 18th of the holy Phoibammon, used until the 11th century. The excursion ends with a stop at the Colossi of Memnon. Return to the ship. We will sail towards Esna passing the lock to continue our journey south. During the cruise we will have a delicious lunch while admiring the beauty of the Nile and the greenery of the trees and fields that surround it. Dinner and overnight stay on board near Edfu.
Day 4: Esna- Edfu - Gabel El Silsila
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast on the river as you cruise towards Edfu. We will visit the Great Temple of Horus. The temple is certainly one of the most impressive monuments on the banks of the Nile between Aswan. Today it is the largest and best preserved temple in Egypt. It was built in the Greco-Roman period and has classic features of Egyptian architecture. Two elegant black granite Horus statues flank the entrance to the pylon, which leads to a large colonnade and the first hypostyle hall. We sail towards Gabal El Silsila. Dinner and overnight stay on board.
Day 5: Gabal El Silsila - Kom Ombo
After breakfast we visit Jebel el Silsila, the most important quarry in Egypt, with which many ancient sandstone buildings were built. We continue south to Kom Ombo. Here we visit the double sanctuary of the Sobek crocodile and the Haroeris, located on the banks of the Nile. Dinner and overnight on board between Kom Ombo and Aswan.
Day 6: Aswan
After breakfast we set sail towards Aswan. The last leg of the cruise passes through a particularly beautiful coastal landscape. Hills of golden sand rise behind the narrow green strip of farmland. After lunch, visit the Temple of Isis on the island of Phileas, through which pilgrims and warriors passed to venerate the figure of the virgin Isis of ancient Egypt. The temple complex was built in the Ptolemaic era. After the construction of the Aswan Dam, the level of the Nile rose and completely flooded the temple for six months of the year. Through the clear water of the river, one could see the courtyards and columns that were under water. In the late 1970s, when the island was in danger of being permanently submerged, the temples were dismantled into blocks and rebuilt above the water level on the nearby island of Agilkia, redesigned to resemble as much as possible the submerged island of Philae. We return to the ship for lunch and
